DESCRIPTION:Delivery Method(s): Classroom Lecture\, Practical Training\, and Performance Evaluations \nDelivery Time: 40 Hours (5 Days) \nPrerequisite(s): Each trainee must have successfully completed a “Fall Protection – Authorized Person” training (or equivalent) prior to attending this course. \nCertification: 2 Years for Competent Person; 5 Years for Train-the-Trainer and Program Administrator \nMinimum Class Size: 3 \nMaximum Class Size: 10 \nEquipment Needs: All trainees must bring a laptop or tablet to the training. \n*NOTE: A 10% discount is available to all new customers. \n  \nLearning Objectives \nThis training course is designed to convey advanced principles of fall protection trainees looking to serve as Program Administrators for their organization’s fall protection program (FPP). This course will fulfill the training requirements for a “Fall Protection Program Administrator”\, in accordance with OSHA 1910/1926 and ANSI Z359 requirements. Following this course\, trainees should be able to: \n\nUnderstand the different components of fall protection systems and personal fall arrest systems (PFAS);\nUnderstand the applicable OSHA and ANSI requirements pertaining to fall protection within their industry;\nProperly identify various fall hazards in the workplace;\nDetermine when fall protection is required;\nUnderstand and be able to apply the fall protection hierarchy of controls;\nAdvise and provide guidance to architects\, engineers\, designers\, and planners during the planning phases of projects to address fall hazards that will be encountered during maintenance and occupancy according to the hierarchy of fall protection and the FPP;\nSpecify the use of ANSI/ASSP 359.6\, Specification and Design Requirements for Active Fall Protection Systems\, when planning permanent active fall protection systems for new and existing facilities;\nDetermine compatibility of various PFAS components;\nUnderstand\, establish\, and assign FPP-related responsibilities\, including the Employer\, Authorized Persons\, Qualified Persons\, Competent Persons\, Authorized Rescuers\, Competent Rescuers\, and Trainers;\nConduct a visual before-use inspection and a documented periodic inspection on various types of fall protection equipment;\nDetermine the frequency of periodic inspections according to the environments where equipment is used\, frequency of use\, and manufacturer instructions;\nPerform a site-specific training needs analysis and gap assessment;\nEnsure and verify training for all personnel involved in an organization’s FPP;\nCalculate free fall distances\, total fall distances\, and clearance requirements;\nEstimate fall arrest forces;\nUnderstand the principles of 100% fall protection and how to remain protected while transferring from one fall protection system or structure to another;\nEvaluate Authorized Persons for proper use of site-specific fall protection systems in accordance with applicable OSHA\, ANSI\, manufacturer\, and site-specific FPP requirements;\nEffectively conduct and manage a site-specific “Fall Protection – Authorized Person” training course;\nEvaluate an organization’s FPP to ensure it comply with applicable standards and regulations;\nMonitor the effectiveness of an organization’s FPP by conducting or directing periodic evaluations and making improvements accordingly;\nRecognize limitations of Authorized Persons working at heights and take action to ensure the Authorized Person’s limitations are not exceeded;\nDevelop site-specific fall protection procedures for active fall protection systems;\nEnsure a procedure to identify new fall hazards is established and developed;\nEnsure that rescue plans\, whether conducted by employees or with assistance of other services\, are coordinated to ensure a successful rescue event;\nUnderstand the various rescue options when a worker(s) has fallen from heights;\nUnderstand the principles of suspension trauma and how to mitigate it during an emergency; and\nConduct and/or ensure investigation of FPP-related incidents.\n\n  \nCourse Outline \nDays 1 and 2: Fall Protection – Competent Person \n\nApplicable OSHA 1910 and 1926 standards\nApplicable ANSI Z359 standards\nFall hazards in the workplace\nBasic types of fall protection systems\nFPP-related roles and responsibilities\nFall protection hierarchy of controls\nSafe work practices\nFalling object hazards\nWarning line systems\nSafety monitor system\nControlled access zones\nSafety net systems\nGuardrail systems\nPersonal Fall Arrest Systems (PFAS)\nRescue requirements\n\nDays 3 and 4: Fall Protection Train-the-Trainer \n\nComponents of training\nInstructional system design\nTrainer responsibilities\nLegal considerations for trainers\nTraining needs analysis\nParticipant considerations\nPreparation skills\nPresentation skills\nClassroom management\nOSHA 1910/1926\, ANSI Z359.2\, and ANSI Z490.1 requirements\n\nDay 5: Fall Protection Program Administrator \n\nApplicable OSHA 1910/1926 and ANSI Z359.2 requirements\nPersonal protective equipment (PPE) hazard assessments\nFall hazard identification\nFall protection programs (FPPs)\nFall protection plans\nFall protection procedures\nRoles and responsibilities within an organization’s FPP\nRescue plans\nDetermining the frequency of periodic equipment inspections\nIncident investigations\n\nTo register\, call/text (270) 670-4718 or email us at info@arrowsafetyus.com.
