Fall Protection – Competent Person

Rigging – Periodic Inspections
In addition to the daily inspections before use, OSHA and ASME both require periodic inspections of all rigging equipment by a qualified person. The frequency of “periodic’ is based the severity of use. All slings and rigging equipment shall be inspected at least annually for normal use, and either monthly or quarterly for severe use. From slings over 100 feet long to 1/4” shackles and hoist rings, no job is too big or small!
